Hi there! I’m so happy we crossed paths! My name is Alexis and I am the creator of My Business Threads, a place for you to learn about Entrepreneurism. I absolutely love being an Entrepreneur! I’ve been one for 14 years and counting now.
Before I opened my home business, I was working 4 independent contractor jobs. I worked 7 days a week most weeks and it was hard to keep up! It can be draining to say the least! On top of my jobs, I so desperately wanted to work at home! I wanted more time to myself and more time for life in general. I hated the idea of working my life away! This is something I’ve felt strongly about for years! It’s unfortunate to know that this is what happens to most people. They simply work their life away.
I decided to make the choice to NOT do that! Even though it required more work on top of what I was already doing, I knew that if I worked hard enough now, eventually, I could get rid of my 4 jobs and just work from home with maybe one part time job. That was the plan. So that’s what I did. I stayed up late after work and made plans for what would eventually be my small home business where I would hopefully work full time. Fingers crossed!
I kept at it for an absurd length of time because truthfully, I kind of knew what I was doing but not really. It took me a long time to think through the different aspects of how to plan for, open, operate and grow a business. And though I knew this was something I so desperately wanted, I had no mentor to help guide me through the chaos of the planning stages. Because of this, I spent 3 years planning! Eventually, I decided to move to a small community and bought a house that was perfect for my business!
Fast forward 4 years. I put my plan in motion and now I run a very successful full time business out of my house. A few years after I opened my home business, I decided that I wanted to help others do the same. The idea originally came to me after I had a number of people ask me about how I did it and where I started. There is so much to plan and prepare for that most people never make it through the planning stages. It can be pretty daunting.
However, I personally feel it’s such an amazing experience to be able to work from home and own a business that if you want to do it, you owe it to yourself to at least try, but where to start?! Shortly after, I decided that I wanted to start a blog website where I could share how I did it. I wanted to share my knowledge, my process, and how I started. So along side my home business, I also run this blog. It’s important to me that you have a safe, judgement free place where you can learn as much as you’d like about small business and how to go about starting one. This is a place where you can be unsure about something and know that that is okay because you know that at My Business Threads, we support you!
I also run a free facebook group where aspiring business owners can receive free trainings and support while they work towards setting up, launching, and growing their brick & mortar business or small home business. I teach my members strategies to create a solid foundation on which to build their business, provide step-by-step guidance for how to setup, launch & grow their business successfully all in a judgement free zone that comes with 100% support!
I absolutely love helping my members succeed at their goals and it brings me a lot of joy to watch them launch their new businesses successfully. I also offer private coaching, & group coaching sessions, and online courses to help my members succeed.
One thing that I believe is super important in life is that everybody deserves to enjoy what they’re doing every single day! We spend so much time over most of our lives working and we should be able to enjoy it if we can. So, if you have an opportunity to do something you love or have always dreamed about, you should do it! In my case, I wanted to work for myself.
